Thutmose II

Thutmose II
(reigned c. 1492–1479 BC)
Throne name Aakheperenre. Son of Thutmose I and Mutnefret. He may have been fairly young upon his accession, and he married his half sister, Hatshepsut. The length of his reign is uncertain. His forces put down a revolt in Nubia early in the reign. He left one daughter, Nefrure, by Hatshepsut, and a son and successor, Thutmose III, by a minor wife or concubine, Isis. His tomb has not been identified, but his mummy was recovered from the royal cache in 1881.
